Dublin & I's One Month Anniversary

Time sure does fly! It's hard to believe only a month ago I was saying my "see ya laters" and one day later entering an entirely new place, slightly nervous and 100% jet lagged.

I feel like I have a good feel for the city and where things are at, but definitely like there is still so much for me to see and explore, which I like. The city still has plenty of secrets and surprises for me to come across :].

This weekend was a lot of fun, a perfect mix of fun and relaxation. Friday night a few of us went to a club called D2. There was a "pink" event going on to support breast cancer awareness we found out about through our school.
Elliot, Hannah, Katie, and I
Only four of us are pictured but six of us went. We arrived and let's just say, we were some of the youngest people there by about 15 years, minimum. Great...not exactly the night we had in mind, but we already paid cover so we decided to stick it out and see what happened. We were bound to have fun no matter what. After about an hour people our age showed up and it turned out to be a fun night after all - whew!

Saturday almost all of the American's, minus two, went to a Gaelic football match at Croke Park in Dublin - SO cool! This was something I wanted to do at least once throughout my time here which made it even better. Tickets were only 13 euro for two matches (Kildare V. Tyrone, Dublin V. Kerry). Since we're students we got five euro back when we entered, score!
Hannah and I! It poured on all of us the entire 25 minute walk to the stadium. It stopped once we arrived which was nice, but we were all freezing the entire game from sitting in our wet clothes!
PS Mom - my "european hat" is not waterproof after 20 minutes...
We had great seats - 45,000 people at the second match, Dublin V. Kerry
The sea of blue flags (Dublin's colors) -everyone waved them when they scored!
Fun fact: see where the lights are on the top of the stadium? The game ball is presented by a person being lowered from up there. Scary!

Tyrone won the first match and unfortunately Kerry won the second. Next time, Dublin! It was still really fun to go and it was easy to catch on to the (basic) rules of the game (even for me...shocking, I know).

Today has been a lazy Sunday and tomorrow starts another week of classes, I'll be sure to make a post about school soon...sometimes I forget I actually have to do some work while I'm here ;).

Also to come soon: where I'm living! Check back - have a great week all.
